This image is from October 2007 when a Code Pink protester confronted Condoleezza Rice just as she was about to testify to the House Foreign Relations Committee.

“Blood of millions of Iraqis is on your hands,” the protester told Rice. “War criminal! … War Criminal! Take her to the Hague.” she said as she was removed from the room.

It is a powerful image of two faces standing for two different issues. Condi barely bats an eyelash as the Code Pink protester comes at her with bloody hands. There’s a video of it here.

They both believe they are doing the right thing. One is for the wars and one is against.

So many people are against the war, yet not all are willing to stand up for what they believe in. Some may go about it in a different wat than this protester did, but this did get some media attention, and that was the point.

Sending a message.

What message does this picture send to you?

Face it, we must stand up for the things we believe in, and stand up against the things we don’t.

A news personality, an author and a blogger face all in one!

CNN’s The Situation Room has an hourly feature called The Cafferty File. It’s hosted by none other than Jack Cafferty.

Jack Cafferty is a straight talking CNN commentator who always tell it like it is. He doesn’t pull any punches and will say whatever comes to his mind. That’s what I like about him and that’s why I’m adding his “Face” to Blogger Faces.

One controversial remark from Jack was when a Osama Bin Laden tape came out just before the hearings on tapping Americans phones and Jack implying the timing of the release of the tape may not be a coincidence. Jack Said…

“The last time we got a tape from Osama bin Laden was right before the 2004 presidential election. Now here we are four days away from hearings starting in Washington into the wire tapping of America’s telephones without bothering to get a court order or a warrant, and up pops another tape from Osama bin Laden. Coincidence? Who knows?”

Each hour for the Cafferty File, Jack reads a question and viewers can answer them on his blog. Jack returns later in the hour to read some of the answers submitted on his blog. The questions are always on a wide range of topics like today’s questions: How Would $4/Gallon Gas Affect You? or News Media Unfair to Clinton? or yesterday’s question McCain’s success tied to Iraq war?

It’s a popular segment on CNN and with good reason. Jack will also sit in with a panel and Wolf Blitzer to discuss daily events in typical Jack Cafferty way.

On a personal note Jack Cafferty was born on December 14, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Before he joined the Situation Room in the summer of 2005, he was co-anchor of CNN’s American Morning.

On September 10th, 2007, John Wiley & Sons published Jack Cafferty’s book “It’s Getting Ugly Out There: The Frauds, Bunglers, Liars, and Losers Who Are Hurting America“. It is just as straight shooting as the Jack you get on his Cafferty File.

Face it, you get the File, the blog and the book.

I have seen many politicians holding babies for photo ops or what have you, but I must admit, I have never seen pictures of a baby and a politician as cute as these two.

We have the face of the past and the face of the future.

Some may not know who is in the photos, but it is Presidential Candidate and congressman Ron Paul. I know he isn’t going to get the nomination for the Republican party, but I couldn’t pass up posting these pictures on blogger faces.

Out of all the presidential candidates, find me one that took a photo even close to how adorable these look.

Unlike when “Giuliani tossed a baby like a football” because she was crying when he was holding her.

Sure Ron Paul has experience with the little ones since he has delivered over 4000 babies. Ron Paul was an OB/GYN doctor. He’s a natural when it comes to kids and he has a friendly face that the kids are obviously comfortable with.

When I look at these, I get the feeling Ron Paul actually enjoys doing this because he genuinely likes kids and it’s not just for the photo op. The media hasn’t given him much attention anyways.

What this 2008 Presidential primary election and November 2008 Presidential election really comes down to is, what kind of future does everyone want for thier kids? It’s not about who’s more electable or republican or democrat, it’s about the future.

Face it, the future is theirs, so let’s leave them a good past, OK?

I wasn’t sure what I was going to post about today, so I type in news in the search bar and at the top of the list…

Cuba’s parliament named Raul Castro president(on left in image) on Sunday, ending nearly 50 years of rule by his brother Fidel.

Sure, I already posted about Fidel Castro and we were pretty sure his younger brother Raul was going to replace him, but after 50 years of rule by Fidel, Cuba has a new face as leader.

Alright, so Raul isn’t all that new of a face for the Cuban people. Is he going to change things much from the way his brother ruled Cuba? I’m not betting the house on it.

Raul proposed he would consult with his ailing brother, 81-year-old Fidel on all major decisions of state, and parliament approved the proposal.

Raul is getting up there in age himself. Born June 3, 1931, he’ll be 77 this year. We can pretty much assume that they will not be 50 years of rule by Raul.

You knew the US would put their 2 cents in and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice must have drew short straw (ok I don’t know if they draw straws to decide things, but it would make sense the way things are going).

Rice said Cubans have a right

“to choose their leaders in democratic elections”

and urged the government

“to begin a process of peaceful, democratic change by releasing all political prisoners, respecting human rights, and creating a clear pathway towards free and fair elections.”

Oh yeah Condi, Raul is going to listen to what you have to say.

Face it, for Cuba, Raul Rules. (Try and say “Raul Rules” 10 times REALLY fast)

Everyone works for it. Everyone wants more of it. Some consider it the root of all evil. MONEY!

Let’s face it, we all would like to make more money, but they always say money can’t buy happiness. Some respond to that by saying, “but it can buy a big new house, a new car, new clothes and plenty of trips around the world.”

Most currency from around the world always seems to have faces of people on it. Whether it’s Presidents or leaders or even Queen Elizabeth.

The US 100 dollar bill has the face of Benjamin Franklin (as shown in the image on the right) on the front who was a U.S. statesman, inventor, and diplomat. The 100 dollar bill is one of two U.S. bills that doesn’t feature a U.S. President. The other is the U.S. 10 dollar bill with Alexander Hamilton.

The US 1 dollar bill has the face of first U.S. President George Washington (as shown in the image on the left). Although more people want more Benjamins, they probably see more of George since the one dollar bill is the most common obviously because of it’s low denomination.

The U.S. 2 dollar bill has the face of former U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, the U.S. 5 dollar bill has the face of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, the 10 is mentioned above, the U.S. 20 dollar bill has the face of former U.S. President Andrew Jackson, and the U.S. 50 dollar bill has the face of former U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant. Then there are all the coins.

Canadian currency features numerous faces as well. Queen Elizabeth is one of those faces (see left image) which is featured on various denominations including the Canadian one dollar coin, often referred to as a “Loonie” for the loon that is featured on the opposite side of the coin (see right image).

It doesn’t matter what country the currency comes from, it seems they all have a face of someone from that country’s history.

Let’s face it, we’d all like to see a little more of these faces.

Well since it’s Friday I thought we could make it a Fun Friday post. Have a bit of fun and put a smile on your face.

When I was a kid I loved playing video games and I still like to when I get a chance at my age. I grew up playing Atari, Coleco Vision, Intellivision. Those systems had some fun games.

Eventually Nintendo, Sega, Play Station, Xbox, N64, and all the other game systems and upgrades. With so many it’s hard to keep track.

I also loved going to the arcade and plugging quarters into the machine. Street Fighter was one of the most popular games there. There would always be a group around it watching while others played. Click the image to face off on Street Fighter.

When I went shopping with my mom, she would give me a few bucks to go play some video games as she went shopping. It seemed like that’s what all the moms did. I must admit I didn’t mind going “shopping” with my mom.

I haven’t been to an arcade in years. I’m not even sure if there is one around here anymore. Maybe with all the video game systems the kids stayed home and the arcades closed down. Unless, it is just because I stopped going myself and never went to seek out an arcade.

Tomorrow is Saturday and I think I’m going to wake up and see if I can find an arcade and plug a few quarters into some machines. See if I can find one of those antique Street Fighter machines or a Zelda. Galaga took quite a few quarters from me too. In the mean time, I’m going to face the fun with the help of FunCityGames.info and I have to keep with the theme of Blogger Faces so I can only add the games with FACES.

Chances are that you are reading this with the aid of technology that this gentleman played a part in developing. I am creating this post through the use of technology that this man played a part in creating.

I am of course talking about Bill Gates “The Face of Microsoft” who is currently chairman of Microsoft, although he has held several positions over the history of the company, including CEO and chief software architect.

Bill Gates is one of the most well known entrepreneurs when it comes to the computer revolution. Microsoft’s Windows Operating System is the most widely used and millions of computers worldwide use various types of software created by Microsoft.

There are also many critics of Microsoft though, as they feel the tactics employed are anti-competitive. There are many competing products, all vying for a piece of the technology financial pie.

Bill Gates was born William Henry Gates III on 28 October 1955 and the company he founded with Paul Allen in 1975 has grown into a Multi-Billion dollar company. Forbes magazine had listed Gates as the richest person in the world from 1995 to 2007, with recent estimates of his net worth close to US$60 billion.

With this wealth does come philanthropic endeavors and the Gates family created The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000, which is the largest transparently operated charitable foundation in the world. The main goals of the foundation are to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty globally and to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology in the United States.

Whether you love him or hate him, Bill Gates and Microsoft have contributed a lot to this world, with the help of thousands of employees of course, and will always be looked at as the Face of Microsoft and possibly the Face of the Computer Revolution.

The Bald Eagle, which is also known as The American Eagle, is one of my favorite creatures in the world. Since I was young I always loved seeing pictures of this majestic bird and watching nature shows when they had them featured. I have pictures and sculptures of this beautiful bird. That is why I want to make it the first animal “face” that I post on BloggerFaces.com

The face of the eagle looks so powerful. When it soars above in the sky, it has all the freedom in the world. Powerful and Freedom. That is probably one of the reasons that the bald eagle is the emblem of America, although it could have been a turkey…

In 1782 the Bald Eagle was officially declared the National Emblem of the United States by the Second Continental Congress, although Ben Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the national bird, because he thought the eagle was of bad moral character.

The distinctive white head and tail feathers do not appear until Bald Eagles are about 4 to 5 years old. Their beak and eyes turn yellow during the fourth and fifth year, and are dark brown prior to that time. Bald Eagles are about 29 to 42 inches long, can weigh 7 to 15 pounds, and have a wing span of 6 to 8 feet. This makes them one of the largest birds in North America. Females are larger than the males. Bald Eagles residing in the northern U. S. are larger than those that reside in the south. They have a life span of up to 40 years in the wild, and longer in captivity.

If you want to learn more about the majestic bald eagle, visit Eagles.org and donate to help protect this beautiful bird.

One of the longest-serving leaders in the world, and the “Face” of Cuba rule since 1959, has announced his resignation.

That is not a typo!

For nearly 5 decades Fidel Castro was the leader of Cuba and now he finally steps down. It has sent shock waves around the world, but rarely a blip registered on the radar in Cuba. Maybe after so many years of being ruled by Castro, those in Cuba won’t believe it until his death, which he is not far from.

Fidel Castro revealed his plans in a letter published in the middle of the night on February 18, in the online version of Cuba’s state-run newspaper, Granma.

“I will not aspire to, nor will I accept the position of president of the council of state and commander in chief,” Castro wrote. “I wish only to fight as a soldier of ideas…. Perhaps my voice will be heard.”

The Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis, US Embargo against Cuba are serveral of the defining moments of Cuba-USA foreign relations that come to mind when I look at the face of Fidel Castro.

Who will replace Fidel Castro?

Cuba’s leaders plan to elect a president within days. Castro’s brother Raúl, 76, the country’s defense minister, has been named publicly as his successor.

Castro’s Health has been getting worse in recent years and that is part of the reason he gave for his resignation, stating that

“It would betray my conscience to take up a responsibility that requires mobility and total devotion, that I am not in a physical condition to offer”
